The bipolar ion generator (positive and negative ion generator) of Chuangpu generally has two output lines, one for positive ion output and the other for negative ion output, with steel needles or carbon brushes used as output terminals. Positive and negative ions neutralize positive and negative charges in the air, instantly producing a huge release of energy, causing changes in the structure of bacteria in the surrounding air, thus achieving the effect of sterilization. Positive and negative ions have a good effect on removing static electricity, but their bactericidal effect is weaker than that of plasma.

The core of removing static electricity from positive and negative ions is the high-pressure ionization of air, which simultaneously releases positive and negative ions; Ions are attracted by charged surfaces and undergo charge neutralization, causing the surface electrostatic voltage of the object to quickly return to near 0V.

For home appliances, bipolar ions are mainly used to support air purification. They help reduce airborne particles such as dust, pollen, and smoke by charging them so they settle more easily. They can also assist with odor reduction and microbial control. In fans, ceiling fans, air circulators, and HVAC modules, the ionizer works as an active air-care feature rather than a replacement for HEPA filtration.

For industrial static elimination, the focus is on ESD control. Bipolar ionizers release balanced positive and negative ions to neutralize static charges on PCBs, films, plastics, paper, packaging materials, and other surfaces. This helps prevent electrostatic discharge damage, dust attraction, material sticking, misfeeding, and surface contamination in electronics manufacturing, printing, packaging, and cleanroom environments.
